Tesofensine monograph

Tesofensine is a real appetite-suppressant candidate. It is a triple monoamine reuptake inhibitor — blocking the reuptake of norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine. From a pharmacokinetic standpoint, the mechanism is sound, but as a triple monoamine reuptake inhibitor, the risk of related side effects (HR, BP, serotonin syndrome) is high. Given the use of monoamines for various reasons by athletes, additional care for contraindicated compounds should be taken.
