The Protocol

After the show is over, and after the diet has ended, there is still work to do. Whether you use the post diet period for a rebound growth phase or for a gradual reverse diet, you’re going to have to have a method for managing the immediate post-diet period and its flood of hunger hormones, water retention, and potential issues with motivation.

One of the most important post-diet aspects to manage is how you come off any fat burners or similar stimulants used during the diet.

Taper: For the first 5 days stay at full dose so water and appetite don’t spike as hard. Next 5 days drop to half dose as a first taper. Next 5 days go to about a quarter dose (if the product doesn’t divide into quarters, just use sparingly), then you’re off. This helps take the edge off the roaring appetite and water retention that come with the end of a calorie deficit diet.

Post Diet Struggles

You just finished a calorie deficit diet. As hungry as you were all diet, you learn very quickly that your on-diet hunger levels were suppressed as a survival mechanism. When the post-diet food starts coming in at higher amounts, you learn this fact as the appetite you thought had already reached its peak begins to rage to unforeseen new heights, opening the floodgates of water retention with it.
